'It's A Wrap'
The first International Comedy Film Festival, which took place between Thursday 25th and Sunday 28th September was a great success in terms of concept and organisation, with almost universal praise in all of the feedback forms we have received. Obviously some events worked better than others and we shall certainly be looking at the strengths and weaknesses of the festival during our debriefing and how we can increase the number of people attending in future years.
Issues we shall certainly be looking at include the time of year the festival is held, the scale of the event and also how the event is coordinated. More smaller, quirky events that do not clash seem a popular suggestion, while holding the event during a holiday period would greatly increase the support of the screenings. We will also be looking into setting up a film festival group to coordinate the delivery of the events as a subgroup of the Torbay Cultural Partnership.
